Blue Wave NDT has achieved ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Management System, following independent audit and certification by DNV.
The certification confirms that Blue Wave NDT’s internal processes, governance, and operational controls meet internationally recognised standards for quality management. ISO 9001 provides a structured framework covering planning, delivery, review, and continuous improvement, ensuring consistency across all aspects of inspection services.
For clients operating in marine and defence environments, where traceability, repeatability and documented processes are critical, ISO 9001 certification provides assurance that inspection activities are supported by controlled systems rather than ad hoc processes.
“Achieving ISO 9001 certification is an important step in strengthening how we operate as a business,” said Giles Waterhouse, Managing Director of Blue Wave NDT. “It formalises the systems behind our inspection work, ensuring that planning, delivery, reporting and review are all managed in a consistent and controlled way. This is particularly important for clients working in regulated or safety-critical environments.”
The certification builds on Blue Wave NDT’s existing recognition by Lloyd’s Register as a Recognised Service Supplier for ultrasonic inspection, and its Cyber Essentials certification for secure handling of information. Together, these accreditations reflect a broader approach focused on governance, technical assurance, and operational control.
Blue Wave NDT continues to develop its accreditation pathway, with plans to engage further with classification societies and expand its position within defence and high-assurance supply chains, including future registration on the JOSCAR supplier database.
Working across marine, defence, and advanced engineering sectors, Blue Wave NDT provides ultrasonic inspection services for composite and metallic structures, supported by defined procedures, qualified personnel, and detailed, traceable reporting.
